The term baby boomer is used to refer to those people that were born between the years 1946-64. Records show that the last line of the baby boomer generation would likely be in their early 50s’ now. More so, this group is slowly exiting the job market, leaving their companies with inadequate human resources in terms of skills as well as experience for the available jobs.  The sectors that are likely to experience such adverse

changes are the leadership, as well as the financial departments. The boomers age bracket is known for their excellent leadership skills as well as their high-quality knowledge in financial control. However, such exits

do not mean that the organizational operations will end. Firms are in pole positions to overcome such seemingly adverse changes if they put several plans in place.  Affected organizations should start hiring less

qualified employees to start working in teams entailing these baby boomers to acquire the required skills and experience that will enable the company to move in the future years. More so, such firms must invest in

training programs for their junior staff to nurture them into competent employees in the coming years.  More so, businesses should come up with strategies in which baby boomers will act as mentors, where the

upcoming learners in companies will learn from the outgoing group of employees. Finally, the companies’ management should initiate programs in which the outgoing baby boomers will get retained in the firms for a

longer period before the enterprise acquires new staff to replace them.
